Elizabeth Rigg Thomas : Secondary English 6-12

My name is Elizabeth Rigg Thomas.

I have  a B.A. in English and Creative Writing, a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies / Humanities (during the pursuit of which I earned 44 credit hours in 500-level English classes), and I am finishing my Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) from Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia. My thesis topic is Gardner’s Theory of Multiple Intelligences in the Secondary English Classroom. My graduation date is May of 2019.

Prior to student teaching, I served as an Adjunct English Instructor at Virginia Western Community College, ITT Technical Institute, and Miller-Motte Technical College. I student taught at William Byrd High School, working primarily with General Co-Taught Sophomores.

In addition to teaching, my other interests include mixed media collage, reading, and writing YA historical fantasy novels.

I also enjoy going on fun adventures with my two girls, Laura (8) and Luci (6).
